Below is a step by step guide on the Moderated Study experience, first from the researcher’s perspective followed by the participant’s perspective! If you are looking for more information on Moderated Studies and additional resources, click here.

SETTING UP A STUDY

1. Log into PlaybookUX Workspace
2. Click “Create Project”
3. Click “Moderated”
4. Name study (this is internal facing and will not be shown to testers)
5. Provide optional description (this is internal facing as well)
6. Choose how long you want your study between 30 & 60 minutes
7. Select which audience you would like between PlaybookUX participants or Bring Your Own Participants
8. Select which device you would like the participant to use out of desktop, tablet, or smartphone

If you chose Bring Your Own Participants

9. Click Submit - you’ll automatically be taken to the schedule screen

If you chose PlaybookUX participants…

9. Click Next

10. Enter number of audience (for moderated, we usually recommend about 5-10 max)

11. Enter any demographic details. Things you can choose from:

• Age
• Gender
• Ethnicity
• Household Income
• Location - Country
• Location - US State
• Language
• Job Role
• Current Work Status
• Company Size
• Industry
• Seniority

12. Enter any qualifying questions to expand demographics

• Multi-select: participants are given the chance to choose more than 1 option (“May select” can be chosen for any choices that won’t disqualify anyone but also won’t qualify exclusively)
• Single-Select: participant must choose 1 choice.

13. Click Next

14. Review details and payment information on page.

15. Click “Submit and Pay”
